Ultra-high pressure cleaning hose is built for high-pressure water-jet cleaning work: municipal drain and sewer flushing, industrial pipe interior washing, rust and scale removal, tank and vessel cleaning, and high-pressure rinsing on construction sites. In these jobs the real enemy is usually not the pressure rating but abrasion — high-velocity water carrying particles keeps eroding the inner wall, while the hose drags and rubs against the ground.

Built for Abrasion, Not Just Pressure

The inner tube mainly resists media permeation and particle abrasion rather than pressure alone. Detergents, descalers and degreasers in the cleaning media attack the lining continuously, so the material must neither swell nor break down in long-term water service. The reinforcement is the pressure skeleton: cleaning runs through constant "pressure up — release — pressure up again" cycles, and a fiber layer recovers elastically far better than a metal spiral layer, which accumulates tiny permanent deformation on every pulse. The PU outer cover is chosen precisely for abrasion — it takes the hit when the hose is dragged, rubs pipe walls, or rolls over gravel.

How to Select

• Judge by abrasion conditions. If the job is mostly in-pipe rinsing, outer abrasion requirements can be relaxed; if it is dragged long distances over gravel, an abrasion-resistant outer becomes the first priority.
• Confirm media compatibility. Cleaning media may contain detergents, descalers or degreasers that demand different linings. Define the media composition before ordering so the inner tube is compatible.
• Look at usage and fittings. High-frequency work demands more fatigue tolerance; couplings and seals are the weak link of any high-pressure seal — a mismatched fitting means even the best hose cannot work.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can it replace a normal hydraulic hose?
Not recommended. A hydraulic hose is judged on media compatibility and stable pressure transfer; a cleaning hose exists to solve abrasion and long-term water-environment service, with far higher demands on outer abrasion resistance.

What if the job temperature exceeds the rated range?
Over-temperature degrades the material — it hardens, turns brittle or loses elasticity and accelerates layer failure.

Why does it wear out so fast?
Three sources: particle impact on the inner wall from high-pressure water, direct friction with the ground while dragging, and repeated bending and twisting during pay-out and recovery. Avoiding sharp-angle drags and over-curling is the most effective cure.

Why do couplings fail before the hose?
The joint must hold both high-pressure sealing and the continuous impact of the water jet — it is where force and abrasion concentrate most. Poor assembly leaks before the hose body does.
