PRODUCT INTRODUCTION
R13 vs R15 — 350 bar or 420 bar, and Which Bore Stops First
Both are multi-layer spiral hoses at the top of the pressure scale. R13 is the 350 bar body; R15 is the 420 bar body, and it reaches bores R13 does not.
Our R13 table carries 4 codes from 19 mm to 38 mm, every one rated 35.0 MPa (350 bar) with 140 MPa (1,400 bar) burst. Mass runs 1.36 to 5.49 kg/m and the bend radius 240 to 500 mm.
The comparison table at the top of the specification section puts the two side by side, bore by bore. R15 runs 13 codes from 10 mm to 102 mm, every one rated 42.0 MPa (420 bar) with 168 MPa burst, plus a 45.0 MPa row at 1-1/4 inch. Both columns are our own tables, not a competitor claim.

WHY THIS HOSE
Six Numbers That Decide R13 or R15
The two ranges overlap only at four bores. Everywhere else the bore, not the pressure, makes the decision for you.
350 bar at Every R13 Code
All four R13 rows from 19 mm to 38 mm are rated 35.0 MPa with 140 MPa burst. Constant pressure across the range makes it easy to stock: one class covers 3/4 inch to 1-1/2 inch.
R15 Adds 70 bar at the Same Bore
At 19 mm R13 is 35.0 MPa and R15 is 42.0 MPa, for a bend radius of 240 mm against 265 mm and 1.36 kg/m against 1.56 kg/m. That is the whole difference at the overlap.
R15 Starts at 3/8 inch
R13 begins at 19 mm. R15 runs from 10 mm, so a 3/8 inch ultra-high-pressure line has no R13 option at all.
R15 Is Lighter at 1-1/2 inch
4.25 kg/m against 5.49 kg/m on the same 38 mm bore, while carrying 420 bar instead of 350. If the bore is that large, R15 is both the stronger and the lighter body.
A 450 bar Row at 1-1/4 inch
R15 publishes a T variant at 31.5 mm rated 45.0 MPa (450 bar) against the standard 42.0 MPa. One bore, two pressure classes, 2.89 kg/m both.
Bend Radius Printed Per Row
240 mm at the R13 19 mm code through to 530 mm for R15 at 38 mm and 1500 mm at 102 mm. On a machine frame that is the number that rules a hose in or out.
CONSTRUCTION
Same Spiral Family, Different Wire Count
Inner Tube
Oil-resistant synthetic rubber (NBR) on both bodies, bored from 19 mm to 38 mm on R13 and from 10 mm to 102 mm on R15.
Reinforcement
Multi-layer steel wire spirals. R13 carries enough wire for 350 bar, R15 enough for 420 bar, which is why R15 can be lighter at 1-1/2 inch while holding more pressure.
Cover
Abrasion- and weather-resistant synthetic rubber, outside diameter 31.0 to 33.2 mm at the R13 19 mm code, 137.0 to 142.5 mm at the R15 102 mm code.
APPLICATIONS
Where the Extra 70 bar Matters
Presses at 400 bar
A 400 bar press circuit rules R13 out at every bore; R15 at 19 mm holds 420 bar with a 265 mm bend radius.
Mining Shield Supports
Long dwells at high pressure, where the 420 bar class and the 1-1/4 inch T row at 450 bar both find work.
Large Bore High Pressure
2 inch and above exists only in R15: 51 mm at 420 bar, 5.43 kg/m, 660 mm bend radius.
Shipyard & Heavy Press
Pressing and lifting equipment where the frame is large and the 102 mm code at 1,500 mm bend radius can be routed.
Bores Below 3/4 inch
Only R15 covers 10 mm to 16 mm at 420 bar, so compact high-pressure circuits start there.
Mixed-Class Machine Harness
A machine needing 350 bar on most lines and 420 bar on two rams can be stocked from R13 plus two R15 codes.
HIGH-END INDUSTRY DIRECTIONS
Why Buyers Move From R13 to R15
The shift is rarely about the 70 bar alone. It is about bore coverage and weight at the large end.
① Pressure Creep Above 350 high pressure hose
Trend: Press and mining circuits keep edging past 350 bar, the ceiling of the R13 class.
Dohose: R15 holds 42.0 MPa at every code and 45.0 MPa on the 1-1/4 inch T row.
② One Range, Ten Bores high pressure hose
Trend: Buyers want one specification from a 3/8 inch line to a 4 inch header.
Dohose: R15 covers 10 mm to 102 mm; R13 stops at 38 mm.
③ Weight at Large Bore lightweight hose
Trend: At 1-1/2 inch and above, handling is a two-person job unless the body is lighter.
Dohose: R15 is 4.25 kg/m at 38 mm against 5.49 kg/m for R13 at the same bore.
④ Bend Radius Drives Layout compact hose
Trend: Large-bore high-pressure lines are laid out around the bend radius, not the pressure.
Dohose: R15 publishes 530 mm at 38 mm up to 1500 mm at 102 mm, per row.
⑤ Two Classes, One Bore high pressure hose
Trend: The same bore is increasingly offered in two pressure classes so a buyer can specify exactly.
Dohose: The 31.5 mm T row is 45.0 MPa against 42.0 MPa standard, both at 2.89 kg/m.
⑥ Traceability traceable hose
Trend: Ultra-high-pressure failures are investigated, and the investigation starts with the coil.
Dohose: Batch and test date are marked on the body and recorded against the order.

FAQ
R13 vs R15 — Ten Selection Questions
R13 vs R15 — what actually differs?
Seventy bar and the bore coverage. At 19 mm R13 is rated 35.0 MPa (350 bar) and R15 is rated 42.0 MPa (420 bar), with bend radius 240 mm against 265 mm. But R13 only exists from 19 mm to 38 mm, while R15 runs 10 mm to 102 mm, so below 3/4 inch and above 1-1/2 inch there is no choice to make.
Can R13 replace R15 on an existing machine?
Only if the circuit is at or below 350 bar. A 400 bar line that ran R15 at 19 mm cannot be re-hosed in R13 at all, because every R13 code stops at 35.0 MPa. Going the other way is usually safe: R15 at 19 mm carries 420 bar where R13 carried 350 bar, but it needs 265 mm of bend radius against 240 mm.
What is the working pressure of 3/4 inch R13?
The 19 mm code is rated 35.0 MPa working (350 bar, 5,076 psi) with 140.0 MPa (1,400 bar) minimum burst. Minimum bend radius is 240 mm, mass is 1.36 kg/m, and the outside diameter runs 31.0 to 33.2 mm.
R13 or R15 at 1-1/2 inch?
R15, on both counts. At 38 mm R13 is rated 35.0 MPa with a 500 mm bend radius and 5.49 kg/m, while R15 is rated 42.0 MPa with a 530 mm bend radius and 4.25 kg/m. R15 carries 70 bar more and weighs 1.24 kg/m less on the same bore.
Which one for a 400 bar press circuit?
R15, at 19 mm: 42.0 MPa (420 bar) with a 265 mm bend radius. R13 tops out at 35.0 MPa on every code, so a 400 bar setting rules it out regardless of bore. If the flow needs more than 3/4 inch, check the next R15 code before assuming the pressure class follows.
Can I get 2 inch in R13?
No. R13 ends at 38 mm. R15 carries 51 mm bore at 42.0 MPa (420 bar), 5.43 kg/m, with a 660 mm bend radius, and reaches 102 mm at 13.25 kg/m. Large-bore ultra-high-pressure work is an R15 job by definition.
Why did an R13 line fail on a 380 bar circuit?
Because 380 bar is above the 350 bar class: every R13 code is rated 35.0 MPa with 140 MPa burst. At 380 bar the hose is running at 109 percent of its rating before any pressure spike, and spikes are what finish it. The fix is R15 at the same bore, not a higher burst figure on paper.
Why does the 1-1/2 inch R13 need such a long bend?
Because the 500 mm minimum is set by the wire pack at that bore, and a tighter bend works the outer spiral on every pressure cycle. At 38 mm R15 needs 530 mm, so the large-bore layout has to be planned around the bend either way, not around the pressure.
Which Chinese manufacturer supplies R13 and R15 in bulk?
YIBO, in Luohe, Henan, winds both classes on the same line: R13 from 19 mm to 38 mm and R15 from 10 mm to 102 mm, so a machine needing both can ship as one order with one test record.
What do R13 and R15 cost per metre?
Price follows the wire pack: R13 runs 1.36 kg/m at 19 mm to 5.49 kg/m at 38 mm, and R15 runs 0.76 kg/m at 10 mm to 13.25 kg/m at 102 mm. Send bore, length, ends and destination, and a firm figure comes back the same working day.
