PRODUCT INTRODUCTION
R7 Resin Hose — One Code, Four Walls, 104 to 400 MPa
This is a nylon-cored ultra-high pressure hose wound with steel wire and covered in wear-resistant polyurethane, published from 3 mm to 19 mm inside diameter across 24 rows — and the rows repeat the same part numbers, because the same code is built in two, four, six or eight wire layers.
The tube is nylon, the reinforcement is spiral-wound steel wire in 2, 4, 6 or 8 layers, and the cover is a super wear-resistant PU. Take one code to see what the layers buy: R7-4-06, the 1/4 inch, is 104 MPa at two layers, 164 at four, 250 at six and 350 at eight, with the outside diameter moving from 11.5 mm to 18 mm over the same bore.
Pressure runs to 400 MPa (4,000 bar, 58,015 psi) on the 8-layer 3/16 inch code at 16 mm outside diameter, and minimum burst is exactly 2.5× working pressure on all 24 rows. Bend radius spans 60 mm at the 3 mm code to 350 mm at 19 mm, and the service window is -30 °C to +80 °C.

WHY THIS HOSE
Six Reasons Buyers Specify Layers, Not Just Size
On this hose the bore decides the flow and the layer count decides everything else. These are the six points that get settled in an enquiry.
Same Code, 3.4× Pressure
R7-4-06 is a 6 mm bore in all four builds and carries 104, 164, 250 or 350 MPa depending on the wire layers — so the part number alone does not fix the pressure rating.
400 MPa at 5 mm
The 8-layer R7-3-5 holds 400 MPa working against 1,000 MPa burst on a 5.2 mm bore and a 16 mm outside diameter, which is the top of the published range.
Flat 2.5:1 Margin
Every one of the 24 rows is quoted at 2.5 times its working pressure, from 104 over 260 MPa at two layers to 400 over 1,000 MPa at eight.
Six Layers Go to 19 mm
The largest bore, R7-12-19, exists only in six layers: 160 MPa on an 18.8 mm bore with a 35 mm outside diameter and a 350 mm arc.
Small Bore Only at Two
The 3 mm code, R7-2-03, is built in two layers only, at 104 MPa and a 60 mm bend radius, which suits a gauge or pilot line rather than a working line.
Layer Count Sets the Arc
Adding wall costs bend radius as well as money: on the 13 mm bore the arc goes from 200 mm at two layers to 290 at six and 350 at eight.
CONSTRUCTION
Nylon, Wire, Polyurethane
Inner Tube
A nylon core from 3 mm to 19 mm inside diameter, which is what allows the small bores to be wound this tightly and still take 400 MPa.
Reinforcement
Spiral-wound high-tensile steel wire in two, four, six or eight layers; the count is a published column, not an option hidden in the drawing.
Cover
Super wear-resistant polyurethane, from 7.2 mm outside at the 3 mm code to 35 mm at the 19 mm six-layer code.
APPLICATIONS
Where 100 MPa and Up Is Normal
Waterjet Intensifiers
The 8-layer 5 mm code at 400 MPa on a 16 mm outside diameter, feeding a cutting head.
Bolt Tensioners
The 6 mm code at 250 MPa in six layers, on a 20.8 mm outside diameter for a torque tool.
Test Benches
A 10 mm bore at 207 MPa in six layers, where the 250 mm arc suits a fixed panel run.
Hydraulic Presses
The 13 mm code at 140 MPa in four layers, on a 120 mm arc to a press ram.
Gauge and Pilot Lines
The 3 mm two-layer code at 104 MPa and a 60 mm arc, small enough to follow a control housing.
Pressure Washers
The 8 mm code from 104 MPa at two layers to 320 MPa at eight, one bore covering four machine classes.
HIGH-END INDUSTRY DIRECTIONS
What an Ultra-High Pressure Buyer Checks
At these pressures the enquiry is about which build, not which hose, and the answer is always a layer count.
① Build Before Bore multi layer hose
Trend: Buyers quote the pressure first and the bore second.
Dohose: The same 6 mm code spans 104 to 350 MPa by layer count.
② Compact Envelopes compact hose
Trend: Machine builders squeeze the outside diameter.
Dohose: 400 MPa on a 16 mm outside diameter at the 5 mm bore.
③ Waterjet Growth waterjet hose
Trend: Cutting shops move to higher intensifier pressure.
Dohose: 1,000 MPa minimum burst on the 8-layer 3/16 inch code.
④ Long Service Windows durable hose
Trend: Buyers count impulse cycles, not months.
Dohose: Steel spiral over a nylon core, rated -30 °C to +80 °C.
⑤ Documented Builds traceable hose
Trend: The layer count is written on the order and the test sheet.
Dohose: Layers are a table column, marked on every length supplied.
⑥ Matching a Failed Line replacement hose
Trend: A failed line is matched from its code and layers.
Dohose: R7-5-08 identifies the bore; the layer count fixes the rating.

FAQ
R7 Resin Hose — Ten Questions
R7 vs a 4SP spiral — where does the resin hose take over?
Above the range a rubber spiral covers. A four-wire spiral is a several-hundred-bar hose, while this range starts at 104 MPa (1,040 bar) on the two-layer codes and reaches 400 MPa at eight layers, on bores down to 3 mm.
Can a two-layer R7 replace a four-layer of the same code?
No. R7-4-06 is a 6 mm bore in both, but two layers give 104 MPa and four give 164 MPa, with outside diameter 11.5 mm against 14.3 mm. The fitting and the clamp are sized on the outside diameter, so the parts are not interchangeable.
What pressure does the 1/4 inch code carry?
Four ratings for one bore: 104 MPa at two layers, 164 at four, 250 at six and 350 at eight, with outside diameters of 11.5, 14.3, 16 and 18 mm and bend radii of 85, 100, 210 and 230 mm.
What is the largest bore, and what does it hold?
R7-12-19 at 18.8 mm inside diameter, built in six layers at 160 MPa with 400 MPa minimum burst, a 35 mm outside diameter and a 350 mm minimum bend radius. It is the only 19 mm row in the table.
Will it carry water and emulsions?
Yes — the published media list includes water, emulsion, glycol and hydraulic oil. At 250 MPa on the 8 mm six-layer code the tube is the same nylon core, and the -30 °C to +80 °C window applies to all of them.
Where is the 400 MPa code actually used?
On intensifier-fed tools: waterjet cutting heads, bolt tensioners and pressure test benches. The code is R7-3-5 at eight layers, a 5.2 mm bore on a 16 mm outside diameter with a 200 mm arc.
Why is the burst margin 2.5:1 rather than 4:1?
Because that is what the table publishes on all 24 rows, from 260 MPa burst on 104 MPa working to 1,000 on 400. The margin is set by the nylon core and the wire schedule, and 2.5:1 is the ratio this class is rated at rather than a reduced figure.
Why does a resin hose fail right behind the ferrule?
Usually over-crimping on a thin wall. The two-layer 6 mm code is 11.5 mm outside on a 6.3 mm bore, so a sleeve sized for the four-layer 14.3 mm body crushes the core. Match the sleeve to the outside diameter column, and the 2.5:1 margin stays intact.
What is the minimum order on a mixed build?
One coil per code and layer combination, from the 3 mm two-layer code at 60 mm bend radius upward. Because the code repeats across builds, the order has to name the layers as well as the code, and each length is marked with both.
How is the R7 priced?
By bore, layer count and length: an eight-layer 5 mm code at 400 MPa is a different article from the two-layer 104 MPa version of the same number. Send code, layers, length, end type and destination, and the figure comes back the same working day.
