PRODUCT INTRODUCTION
R7 Hose — One Part Number, Two Constructions
This table lists the R7 part numbers twice. The first five rows are the single-layer build and the last eight are the two-layer build, and there is no layer column to say so. A buyer who reads only the code will get two different answers to the same question.
Take R7-4-06. The single-layer row is 22.5 MPa with 90.0 MPa burst on a 12.7 mm outside diameter and a 50 mm arc. The two-layer row is 27.4 MPa with 109.6 MPa burst on 13.3 mm and a 75 mm arc. Same inside diameter of 6.1 mm, same code, different hose.
So the order has to carry the layer: single or double. Everything else on the page is read from the table, and the highest figures in the range are 27.4 MPa at 6.1 mm bore with a 1,096 bar burst and a 250 mm arc.

Application & Selection
FIBER REINFORCED HIGH PRESSURE RESIN HOSE — R7 — Braided Hydraulic Hose. SUITABLE FOR CONVEYING HYDRAULIC FLUIDS SUCH AS GLYCOL, HYDRAULIC OIL, LUBRICATIN. This hose is published in 13 codes spanning 5–25 mm bore.
Working and burst rating of this hose peak at 274 / 1,096 bar, a 4:1 margin. Metric / BSP / JIC / ORFS ends are crimped and pressure-tested in-house, outside diameter 10.3–34 mm. Allow about 20 days for this hose across the 5–25 mm band, OEM branding included.
WHY THIS HOSE
Why the Layer Has to Be Named
A resin hose is built up in layers, and the layer count changes the rating, the diameter and the arc all at once.
Same Code, Two Answers
R7-4-06 is 22.5 MPa single and 27.4 MPa double, on 12.7 and 13.3 mm outside diameter.
5 mm Is the Odd One
Both builds measure 10.3 mm outside at 5 mm bore, yet the ratings are 21.0 and 25.0 MPa.
Double Layer Extends the Range
Only the two-layer build goes beyond 12.5 mm: 16, 19 and 25 mm codes at 16.0, 14.0 and 10.5 MPa.
Arc Grows With Layer
At 6.1 mm bore the arc is 50 mm single and 75 mm double. At 12.7 mm it is 100 mm against 140 mm.
4:1 Either Way
84.0 on 21.0, 109.6 on 27.4, 42.0 on 10.5. The margin is the same for both builds.
Pressure Falls With Bore
21.0 MPa at 5 mm down to 10.5 MPa at 25 mm on the two-layer build, the usual wall behaviour.
CONSTRUCTION
Resin Tube, Fibre Reinforcement
Inner Tube
A resin liner bored 4.6 mm to 25.4 mm. The tube is what makes this a resin hose rather than a rubber one, and it is the part matched to the medium.
Reinforcement
Fibre reinforcement in one or two layers, which is the choice the code does not tell you. It carries 21.0 to 27.4 MPa at the small bores.
Cover
A protective cover taking outside diameter from 10.3 mm at 5 mm bore to 34.0 mm at 25 mm.
APPLICATIONS
Where R7 Is Used
High-Pressure Small Bore
6.1 mm at 274 bar double layer, the highest figure on the table, on a 75 mm arc.
Chemical and Solvent Duty
Where a resin tube is needed rather than a rubber one, at 21.0 to 27.4 MPa.
Pilot and Control
4.6 mm at 210 bar single layer on a 35 mm arc, the tightest routing in the range.
Mid-Range Working Lines
10.3 mm at 250 bar double layer, the size most often quoted for a general service line.
Large Bore Low Pressure
25.4 mm at 10.5 MPa with a 256 mm arc, where flow decides and the class follows.
Retrofit With a Spare Layer
Where a machine is uprated, the double-layer build is the option that keeps the same code.
HIGH-END INDUSTRY DIRECTIONS
What R7 Buyers Ask
The first question is always about the layer, and the second is about the resin.
① Layer Named on the Order resin hose
Trend: Buyers want the layer stated rather than inferred.
Dohose: Same code, 22.5 or 27.4 MPa at 6.1 mm bore.
② Chemical Compatibility chemical hose
Trend: Media is decided before the hose.
Dohose: Resin liner bored 4.6 mm to 25.4 mm, compound confirmed against the medium.
③ Arc Planning hose routing
Trend: The arc is checked against the routing first.
Dohose: 35 to 256 mm published per row, and it changes with the layer.
④ Uprate Without New Codes retrofit hose
Trend: Machines are uprated and the code stays.
Dohose: The double-layer build is available on the same part numbers.
⑤ Large Bore Extension large bore hose
Trend: Larger sizes are needed on chemical lines.
Dohose: 16, 19 and 25 mm codes exist only in the two-layer build.
⑥ Records Per Batch traceable hose
Trend: Chemical service lines are audited.
Dohose: Batch and test date are marked on each length.

FAQ
R7 Hose — Ten Questions
What is the working pressure of R7?
It depends on the bore and on the build. The single-layer rows run from 21.0 MPa at 5 mm down to 14.0 MPa at 12.5 mm; the two-layer rows run from 27.4 MPa at 6.1 mm down to 10.5 MPa at 25.4 mm. Burst is four times working on every row.
R7 single layer vs double layer — what is the difference?
Because there are two builds of the same part number: one single-layer row at 22.5 MPa and 90.0 MPa burst, and one two-layer row at 27.4 MPa and 109.6 MPa burst. The table has no layer column, so the order has to state it.
Can the two-layer build replace the single-layer one on the same machine?
Double layer if the circuit sits above 200 bar or the bore is above 12.5 mm, since only that build goes to 25.4 mm. Single layer if you want the tighter routing: the 35 mm arc at 5 mm bore is the tightest on either build.
What are the bore sizes available?
The single-layer build covers 5, 6, 8, 10 and 12.5 mm bore, and the two-layer build covers 5, 6, 8, 10, 12.5, 16, 19 and 25 mm. Inside diameters run 4.6 mm to 25.4 mm across both.
Why do both 5 mm rows measure 10.3 mm outside?
At the smallest bore the two builds come out the same outside diameter, 10.3 mm, yet they are rated 21.0 and 25.0 MPa. The extra capacity is in the reinforcement, not in the envelope, which is unusual and worth confirming on the order.
Why does the arc change with the layer?
Because the wall thickens. At 6.1 mm bore the minimum radius is 50 mm single and 75 mm double, and at 12.7 mm it is 100 mm against 140 mm. The extra layer adds diameter, and the arc follows the diameter.
Which row for a 250 bar line at 3/8 inch?
The two-layer R7-6-10 at 25.0 MPa with 100.0 MPa burst, on a 100 mm arc and an 18.0 mm outside diameter. The single-layer row of the same code is 17.5 MPa with 70.0 MPa burst.
Which row for a large-bore low-pressure line?
The two-layer R7-16-25 at 10.5 MPa with 42.0 MPa burst, on a 256 mm arc at 25.4 mm bore. It exists only in the two-layer build, which is the point of choosing that build.
What is the minimum order and lead time?
100 metres per size, cut to length, across 4.6 mm to 25.4 mm inside diameter. Production runs about 20 days from confirmation, and OEM marking and packing are available for distributor stock.
What does R7 cost per metre?
Price follows the build and the bore: the two-layer body at 6.1 mm bore carries 27.4 MPa on a 13.3 mm outside diameter, against 22.5 MPa on 12.7 mm for the single layer. Send the bore, the layer, the length and the destination for a firm figure.
