PRODUCT INTRODUCTION
Sandblasting Hose — The Wear Layer Is the Specification
A blasting hose fails from the inside out. The abrasive runs at speed against the tube wall, the wall thins, and eventually the reinforcement is exposed from within — not from abrasion on the outside. The wear layer is published as a tube thickness in millimetres rather than as a heavy-duty claim, because that is the figure a site can check with a caliper before and after a campaign.
That is why the number that matters on this range is not pressure but wear thickness. Four codes run from 19 to 38 mm inside diameter, and the two smaller sizes carry a 4.0 mm abrasion layer while the two larger carry 5.0 mm.
Pressure is flat: every code is 12 bar working with 36 bar minimum burst, a 3:1 margin. A blast pot runs at a fraction of that, so the bore and the wall are chosen for flow and for how long the hose has to last, not for the rating.

WHY THIS HOSE
Why Wear Thickness Decides the Life
Blast media removes material from the bore every hour of use. The wall is a consumable, and the table states how much of it you get.
4.0 mm on Two Sizes
The 19 mm and 25 mm codes carry a 4.0 mm abrasion layer, matched to a smaller blast nozzle and a shorter duty.
5.0 mm on Two Sizes
The 32 mm and 38 mm codes carry 5.0 mm. Bigger nozzle, more media, and a quarter more wall to lose before the wire shows.
12 bar, Flat
All four codes are 12 bar working with 36 bar burst. A blast pot is set well under this, so the rating is not the design case.
Outside Diameter 32-54 mm
The wear layer shows up outside as well: 32 mm at 3/4 inch to 54 mm at 1-1/2 inch, which a coupling and a clamp have to take.
Mass 0.66 to 1.57 kg/m
A 61 m coil runs 40 to 96 kg. That is a two-person lift at the small end and a trolley at the large end.
61 m Without a Joint
Blast runs are long and joints are weak points where media eddies. Every code is supplied to 61 m.
CONSTRUCTION
A Thick Tube Under a Heavy Cover
Inner Tube
An abrasion-resistant tube, 4.0 mm thick on the 19 and 25 mm codes and 5.0 mm on the 32 and 38 mm codes. This layer is the one the media attacks.
Reinforcement
Textile and wire reinforcement sized for 12 bar working pressure. Its job is to hold the burst rating while the tube wears, not to resist the media.
Cover
A heavy-duty cover for yard conditions, taking outside diameter to 32 mm at 3/4 inch through to 54 mm at 1-1/2 inch.
APPLICATIONS
Where It Is Used
Blast Pots and Cabinets
19 and 25 mm at 4.0 mm wear layer, feeding a hand nozzle on short runs.
Yard Blasting
32 mm at 5.0 mm, where a larger nozzle runs all day and the hose is dragged over concrete.
Shipyard Hull Work
38 mm at 5.0 mm and 54 mm outside diameter, on long runs down a dock.
Foundry Cleaning
Short 25 mm lines inside a cell, where the hose bends constantly and the 4.0 mm wall is enough.
Coating Removal
32 mm at 12 bar, sized for media flow rather than pressure.
Shot Peening
Controlled duty where the media is re-circulated and the wall wear is the maintenance interval.
HIGH-END INDUSTRY DIRECTIONS
What Blasting Contractors Ask For
The questions are about how many hours a hose lasts, and about whether a heavier wall is worth the weight.
① Wear Life Over Price abrasion resistant hose
Trend: Contractors compare cost per blasting hour, not per metre.
Dohose: 4.0 mm and 5.0 mm wear layers published per code.
② Larger Nozzles heavy duty hose
Trend: Bigger nozzles mean more media through the same bore.
Dohose: 5.0 mm layer on the 32 and 38 mm codes.
③ Long Dock Runs long length hose
Trend: Dock and hull work needs long lengths without joints.
Dohose: 61 m on every code.
④ Drag Wear Outside durable hose
Trend: Hoses are dragged over concrete and steel, so the cover takes abrasion too.
Dohose: Outside diameter 32 to 54 mm, so sleeving can be sized.
⑤ Weight and Handling lightweight hose
Trend: Operators carry the nozzle end all shift.
Dohose: 0.66 kg/m at 3/4 inch against 1.57 kg/m at 1-1/2 inch.
⑥ Media Changes abrasive hose
Trend: Sites switch between grit, garnet and slag.
Dohose: State the media and the nozzle size and the wear layer is matched to it.

FAQ
Sandblasting Hose — Ten Questions
What is the working pressure of this hose?
Every code is 12 bar working with 36 bar minimum burst, a 3:1 margin. A blast pot is set well below that, so on this range pressure is never the limiting factor and the bore and wear layer are what you choose.
What is the difference between the 4.0 mm and 5.0 mm codes?
Wear life for a given media flow. The 19 and 25 mm codes carry a 4.0 mm abrasion layer, and the 32 and 38 mm codes carry 5.0 mm, which is a quarter more wall before the reinforcement is exposed from the inside.
Can a 5.0 mm hose replace a 4.0 mm one on the same coupling?
Only if the coupling takes the larger outside diameter. The 32 mm code is 48 mm outside and the 38 mm code 54 mm, against 32 mm and 38 mm for the two smaller sizes, so the ferrule and the clamp usually change with the wall.
What abrasion layer thickness is available?
Two: 4.0 mm on the 19 mm and 25 mm bores, and 5.0 mm on the 32 mm and 38 mm bores. Mass runs 0.66, 0.89, 1.29 and 1.57 kg/m in the same order, which is where the extra wall shows up.
Why does a blasting hose fail from the inside?
Because the abrasive travels along the bore at speed and removes tube material continuously, so the wall thins from within. On this range the defence is the layer thickness itself, 4.0 mm or 5.0 mm, rather than a higher pressure rating the pot never reaches.
Why is the pressure rating the same on all four codes?
Because bore does not drive the design case on a blast line; media flow does. All four codes are 12 bar working and 36 bar burst, so the choice is made on the nozzle, the wear layer and the outside diameter.
Which code for a 32 mm blast pot with a large nozzle?
The 32 mm bore code at 5.0 mm wear layer, 12 bar and 1.29 kg/m with a 48 mm outside diameter. It is the smallest size that carries the thicker wall, which is the point at which the extra material starts to pay.
Which code for yard work with a hand nozzle?
The 19 or 25 mm code at 4.0 mm and 0.66 to 0.89 kg/m. A hand nozzle does not need the flow of a 38 mm bore, and the lighter hose is carried all shift rather than dragged on a trolley.
What is the minimum order and the maximum length?
100 m per size as a rule, cut to length, with a maximum single length of 61 metres on every code. Production runs about 20 days from confirmation, and OEM marking and packing are available for distributor stock.
What does it cost per metre?
Price follows the bore and the wall: 0.66 kg/m at 19 mm, 0.89 at 25 mm, 1.29 at 32 mm and 1.57 kg/m at 38 mm. Send the media, the nozzle size, the bore and the destination, and a firm figure comes back the same working day.
