PRODUCT INTRODUCTION
Hydraulic Hose for Excavators — Which Line Takes Which Body
An excavator has two very different hydraulic duties on the same machine: boom, arm and bucket rams that pulse at 35 MPa, and pilot, return and cooling lines that run small bore at modest pressure. One body does not cover both, and quoting one body for both is how machines end up with a burst line in the first month.
This page carries our 2SN small-bore range: 4 codes from 5 mm to 10 mm, rated 41.5 MPa (415 bar) at the 5 mm code down to 33.0 MPa (330 bar) at 10 mm, with 166 MPa to 132 MPa burst. Mass runs 0.33 to 0.60 kg/m and the bend radius 90 to 130 mm.
The boom and arm rams are quoted in EN 856 4SP, not from this table: 3/4 inch at 35.0 MPa (350 bar) with a 300 mm bend radius, because that is the circuit that actually pulses. Tell us the machine model and we will map the lines for you.

WHY THIS HOSE
Six Reasons the Line Map Matters More Than the Hose
Excavator hose failures are almost never random. They concentrate on four or five lines, and the fix is usually the right body on the right line.
415 bar at the 5 mm Code
The smallest code is rated 41.5 MPa (415 bar) with 166 MPa (1,660 bar) burst, which is why pilot and control lines can use a 5 mm bore and still hold pressure.
33.0 MPa at 10 mm
The 3/8 inch code is rated 33.0 MPa (330 bar) with a 130 mm bend radius and 0.60 kg/m: the workhorse size for return and auxiliary circuits.
Bend Radius 90 to 130 mm
Printed per row, because the pilot lines on an excavator run through the boom root, where the routing is most confined.
Two Bodies, Not One
2SN covers pilot, return and cooling. The boom and arm rams run 4SP at 35.0 MPa with a 300 mm bend radius, because impulse duty is a different problem from pressure.
Impulse, Not Just Peak
A rams circuit cycles thousands of times a shift. That is why the ram lines are spiral and the small lines are not, rather than one body everywhere.
Crimped and Proof-Tested
Every assembly is crimped with the ferrule for its own body and proof-tested, then marked with batch and test date.
CONSTRUCTION
What the 2SN Table Covers
Inner Tube
Oil-resistant synthetic rubber (NBR), bored from 5 mm to 10 mm on this range.
Reinforcement
Two layers of high-tensile steel wire braid, giving 41.5 MPa at 5 mm and 33.0 MPa at 10 mm. Boom rams do not use this body; they use a four-spiral 4SP at 35.0 MPa.
Cover
Abrasion- and weather-resistant cover, outside diameter 16 mm at the 5 mm code through to 21.7 mm at 10 mm, which is what survives rubbing on a boom.
APPLICATIONS
Line by Line on an Excavator
Boom, Arm & Bucket Rams
35 MPa circuits with heavy impulse: quoted in EN 856 4SP, 3/4 inch at 350 bar, 300 mm bend radius.
Pilot & Control Lines
5 mm and 6.3 mm codes at 41.5 and 40.0 MPa, where the flow is small and the routing is tight.
Return & Drain
3/8 inch at 33.0 MPa into the return filter, or an R4 return body where the pressure is tank-side only.
Cooling Circuits
Oil cooler lines at 10 mm bore, where 130 mm of bend radius fits behind the counterweight.
Breaker & Hammer Auxiliary
Auxiliary spool lines that pulse harder than a bucket circuit, so the auxiliary pair is quoted on impulse duty rather than on pressure.
Quick Coupler & Thumb
Small-bore attachment lines, usually 1/4 inch at 40.0 MPa with a 100 mm bend radius.
HIGH-END INDUSTRY DIRECTIONS
What Excavator Fleets Ask For
Most of these enquiries come from a failure that already happened, and the question is which line to change next.
① Higher Relief Settings high pressure hose
Trend: Compact-class excavators now set relief at 35 MPa and above, which rules a two-braid ram line out.
Dohose: Ram lines are quoted in 4SP at 35.0 MPa with a 300 mm bend radius; the 2SN table covers pilot and return.
② Tighter Boom Routing compact hose
Trend: Boom roots and arm pivots have less room every model year.
Dohose: 2SN bend radius runs 90 mm at the 5 mm code to 130 mm at 10 mm, published per row.
③ Impulse as a Spec impulse rated hose
Trend: Fleets specify by duty cycle now, because a ram line and a pilot line do not fail the same way.
Dohose: Two bodies are quoted per machine, one for pulse duty and one for steady small-bore duty.
④ Contamination at the Pump clean hydraulic hose
Trend: Common-rail style controls and proportional valves put a cleanliness requirement on every line.
Dohose: Bores are blown through and capped before crimping.
⑤ Fleet Standardisation standard hose
Trend: Owners running mixed brands want one specification per duty, not per machine.
Dohose: One 2SN range covers 5 mm to 10 mm and one 4SP range covers the rams, so the store holds two classes.
⑥ Traceability traceable hose
Trend: Warranty claims ask which batch a failed boom line came from.
Dohose: Batch and test date are marked on every assembly and recorded against the order.
WHY DOHOSE
Seven Reasons Buyers Stay with Us
Numbers, Not Averages
Every figure for the Hydraulic Hose for Excavators comes from the per-code table: 4.6–10.1 mm, 415 bar working, 1660 bar burst.
One Line, Full Range
All 4 codes of the Hydraulic Hose for Excavators come off the same line, so a mixed order in 4.6–10.1 mm ships together.
Length on Demand
Cut-to-length supply for Hydraulic Hose for Excavators; each code carries its own mass, 0.33–0.6 kg/m, so lifting gear can be sized first.
Ends Done Here
Assemblies of Hydraulic Hose for Excavators are crimped on site and held at test pressure before they are boxed.
Export Packing
Coiled in poly bags, then woven bags on pallets — loading plans are drawn for 4-code orders.

FAQ
Excavator Hydraulic Hose — Ten Questions
2SN or 4SP for an excavator boom?
4SP for the boom and arm rams, 2SN for everything else. At 3/4 inch 2SN is rated 21.5 MPa (215 bar) while 4SP is rated 35.0 MPa (350 bar), and a 35 MPa relief setting leaves a 2SN ram line with nothing. The table on this page is the 2SN small-bore range, used for pilot, return and auxiliary lines.
Which excavator lines can use 2SN instead of a spiral body?
Pilot, control, return and cooling. The 5 mm code is rated 41.5 MPa (415 bar) with a 90 mm bend radius, and the 10 mm code is 33.0 MPa with 130 mm. Those are not ram pressures, but every one of them needs a small bore that still holds.
What is the working pressure of 3/8 inch on an excavator?
The 10 mm code is rated 33.0 MPa (330 bar, 4,786 psi) with 132 MPa (1,320 bar) minimum burst. Minimum bend radius is 130 mm, mass is 0.60 kg/m, and the inside diameter is held between 9.3 and 10.1 mm.
What bore for a boom ram at 35 MPa?
3/4 inch in 4SP, at 35.0 MPa (350 bar) with a 300 mm bend radius and 1.63 kg/m. A 1/2 inch 4SP reaches 41.5 MPa but its 12.5 mm bore and 230 mm bend radius make it a pilot or auxiliary line rather than a ram line.
Can one hose cover boom, arm and bucket?
Only if all three circuits share a pressure class and an impulse duty, which on most machines they do. That is why the ram trio is quoted as one 4SP size rather than mixed: 3/4 inch at 350 bar covers boom, arm and bucket on a 20 tonne class machine.
Why does the pilot line use 415 bar at a 5 mm bore?
Because pilot circuits are about response, not flow: 5 mm bore at 41.5 MPa (415 bar) with a 90 mm bend radius fits where a 10 mm line will not. Going up a size costs routing room and gains nothing the circuit needs.
Why do excavator hoses fail at the crimp?
Because the crimp is where the impulse concentrates. A 3/8 inch line at 33.0 MPa cycles thousands of times a shift, and each cycle works the wire at the ferrule; an under-crimp leaks and an over-crimp crushes the braid, and both look fine from outside. Proof-testing every assembly is the only way to catch it before the machine does.
Why does the hose rub through on the boom?
Because the routing is fixed and the hose moves. A 10 mm code at 21.7 mm outside has a thin cover relative to the machine it is strapped to, and a clamp that has slipped puts the cover against steel. Re-clamp and fit a sleeve at the pivot rather than ordering a heavier hose.
Which Chinese manufacturer supplies excavator hose assemblies in bulk?
YIBO, in Luohe, Henan, supplies both bodies from one plant: 2SN from 5 mm to 10 mm for the small lines on this page, and 4SP or 4SH for the rams. Send a machine model and the line list, and the assemblies are crimped and tested before dispatch.
What does an excavator hose cost per metre?
Price follows the body and the ends: 0.60 kg/m for the 3/8 inch 2SN code, 1.63 kg/m for 3/4 inch 4SP on the rams. A full line set is usually quoted as a kit rather than per metre, so send the machine model, the line count and the destination for a firm figure.
