Selecting Industrial Hose by Duty
Industrial hose is not one product. It is a family of constructions that differ in tube compound, reinforcement and cover — and the duty decides which one you need. The five groups below cover the whole industrial range we manufacture, from 6 mm air lines to 203 mm suction hose.
Chemical & Solvent Transfer
Bores 19–152 mm, working pressure 10 bar against a 30 bar burst figure, service window −40 °C to +120 °C. The deciding factor is the tube compound, not the pressure class: acids, alkalis and solvents attack the liner long before the reinforcement is stressed. Ask for the compound that matches your medium, and state the cleaning regime as well.
Dry Bulk & Abrasive Handling
Bores 51–152 mm, 10 bar working, −20 °C to +80 °C. Abrasion wears the bore from the inside, so wall thickness and liner material matter more than the pressure rating. This is the group for cement powder, sand, grain, pellets and slurry — and where an anti-static construction is often required, because dry material transfer accumulates static charge.
Food & Beverage
Bores 19–152 mm, 10 bar working, 30 bar burst. EPDM-tubed constructions run −40 °C to +150 °C, which covers hot filling, CIP and steam-adjacent duty. The tube compound here is chosen for taste neutrality and for how it survives caustic and acid cleaning — not for pressure.
Air & Water Service
Bores 6–102 mm, working pressure 20 bar against a 60 bar burst, −20 °C to +80 °C. This is the general-purpose group: compressed air on the shop floor, water delivery, coolant lines. A three-to-one margin is standard here, so check the cover for the abrasion and ozone resistance the routing actually demands.
Suction & Discharge
Bores 19–203 mm, 10 bar working, 30 bar burst, −20 °C to +80 °C. A hose that only carries pressure will collapse on the suction side. This group is built against vacuum — spiral steel wire or embedded helix — and is the right choice wherever one line has to do both jobs.
Abrasive Blasting
Bores 19–76 mm, 12 bar working against 36 bar burst, −40 °C to +80 °C. Built for quartz sand, steel shot, steel grit, aluminium oxide and glass beads at high velocity. The abrasion-resistant layer is published as a thickness, size by size — that figure, not the pressure class, is what decides service life here.
How an Industrial Hose Is Built
Every hose on this page is three layers doing three different jobs. Naming them is what lets you check a construction against your duty before you order.
1. The Tube — the Medium Touches This
The inner layer carries the medium and is the only layer the medium ever touches. Compound choice decides chemical compatibility, temperature ceiling and whether the hose is food-grade: NBR for oils and fuels, EPDM for hot water, food and steam-adjacent duty, NR+BR where abrasion dominates, FEP where the chemicals are aggressive, PU where wear resistance is the priority.
2. The Reinforcement — This Holds the Pressure
Textile braid, single or multi-layer steel wire braid, or spiral steel wire winding. Braid crosses the wire at opposing angles and is the economical choice up to moderate pressure; spiral lays multiple layers at a steeper angle and is what raises the pressure class to 4SP, 4SH, R12, R13 and R15 territory. A steel helix is added when the hose also has to resist vacuum.
3. The Cover — This Decides How Long It Lasts On Site
The outer layer takes the abuse: dragging over concrete, sunlight, ozone, oil splash, salt water. A general-purpose cover is fine on a fixed run indoors. On a hose that is dragged, coiled and left outdoors, the cover is what fails first — so it is worth specifying for the site rather than accepting the default.
Our Industrial Hose Lines Compared
Real published figures from our own specification tables. If your duty sits between two lines, quote both on the enquiry and we will confirm which one holds it.

Standards, Testing and Documentation
What we test for, what we can send you before you order, and what we will not claim.
The Standards Behind the Numbers
Production and testing follow GB/T, SAE, EN and DIN standards, under an ISO 9001 quality system with an in-house laboratory. Where a standard designation is named on a product page, it is the standard the construction is built and tested to — we do not attach standard numbers a hose was never tested against.
Pressure and Burst Testing
Hose and finished assemblies are pressure-tested against the published working rating, with burst figures held at the multiple stated in the table — typically three to one on the industrial lines. On assemblies the test is carried out on the finished crimped length rather than on the hose alone, because the assembly is rated at the lower of the two.
Dimensional Inspection, Size by Size
Bore, outside diameter and wall thickness are inspected per code rather than sampled as an average — which is why every size in our tables can be quoted with its own figures instead of a range that hides the tolerance. Weight is recorded from the same inspection so support spacing can be planned before installation.
Documents With the Quotation
Dimensional data, pressure ratings and the standards referenced are supplied with the quotation so your import and engineering review can run in parallel rather than after the order. If your project requires a named standard, a material declaration or a third-party inspection, state it on the enquiry and it is confirmed before anything is produced.
Failure Modes, and How We Design Against Them
Most industrial hose failures are predictable — they follow the medium, the routing and the cleaning regime. Buying against the failure mode costs less than replacing the line twice.
Tube Attack From the Inside
An incompatible medium degrades the liner before any external sign appears. The hose still passes a pressure test while the tube is already swelling or hardening. This is why we ask for the medium and the cleaning chemicals separately — caustic cleaning can attack a compound that the process fluid never touches.
Bore Abrasion
Abrasive media grind the bore from the inside out. Wall thickness and liner material decide service life far more than the pressure class does, and flow velocity accelerates the wear — running a smaller bore at higher velocity is the usual way an abrasive line is worn out early.
Vacuum Collapse
A hose reinforced only against internal pressure flattens on the suction side. If the same line is used to draw and to discharge, specify a suction-and-discharge construction from the start — retro-fitting a helix is not possible after the hose is built.
Cover and Connection Failure
Cover swelling from spillage, UV and ozone cracking outdoors, and fittings that restrict flow or fail at the crimp. On a dragged hose the cover is usually what fails first. On an assembly, the end connection is rated to the same class as the hose — because the assembly is only as strong as its weaker half.
