PRODUCT INTRODUCTION
628 Series — 280 bar, and the Arc Does Not Move
The 628 series is the rung most mobile hydraulic circuits actually land on: 28 MPa (280 bar) at every bore from 6.4 to 50.8 mm, with 112 MPa burst behind it.
Its advantage is what it does not cost. The minimum bend radius series is identical to the 621 rung below — 50, 55, 65, 90, 100, 120, 300, 460, 560 and 630 mm — so a machine designed around 225 bar can be re-rated to 280 without moving a clamp. At the 6.4 mm bore the outside diameter goes from 12.2 mm to 13.2 mm.
Above 621 it buys 55 bar; below 635 it keeps a compact body. That is why it is the middle rung rather than a compromise: most circuits sit between 200 and 280 bar, and this is the class that covers them at a 4:1 margin.

WHY THIS HOSE
Why 628 Is the Default Choice
Most circuits are specified between 200 and 280 bar. The question is what a range at that pressure costs in space.
280 bar at All Ten
Every code from 6.4 mm to 50.8 mm is 28 MPa with 112 MPa burst. One class covers a full machine harness at a 4:1 margin.
Same Arc as 621
The whole 50 to 630 mm series is shared with the rung below, so an upgrade is a hose change rather than a re-route.
13.2 mm at the Small End
The 6.4 mm bore measures 13.2 mm outside against 12.2 mm on 621, which is a millimetre of clearance in a crowded cabinet.
Compact Until 13 mm
Up to the 12.7 mm bore the outside diameter stays between 13.2 and 20.3 mm, so small-bore harnesses stay slim at 280 bar.
Holds to 2 Inch
The range continues to 50.8 mm at the same 28 MPa, which is where a constant-pressure series earns its keep on large return lines.
Type Columns A to D
AC and BC stop at 19 mm; CC and DC run the full ten bores, so the build is chosen per size rather than per range.
CONSTRUCTION
One Step Up in Wall
Inner Tube
Oil-resistant synthetic rubber, bored 6.4 mm to 50.8 mm. The tube is shared across the ladder; the reinforcement above it sets the rung.
Reinforcement
High-tensile steel wire rated 28 MPa with 112 MPa burst, sitting between the 621 and 635 bodies in wall thickness.
Cover
Abrasion-resistant cover, outside diameter 13.2 mm at the 6.4 mm bore through 71.0 mm at 50.8 mm.
APPLICATIONS
Where 280 bar Fits
Mobile Pressure Lines
12.7 mm at a 90 mm arc, the usual size for a working line on a compact machine.
Steering and Load Sense
9.5 mm at 65 mm arc, where 280 bar covers the relief setting with room for a spike.
Boom and Arm Cylinders
19 mm at 120 mm arc, on cylinders that dead-head at the end of stroke.
Return Manifolds
31.8 mm at 460 mm arc, sized for flow rather than pressure at the same 28 MPa.
Agricultural Implements
A single class across lift, steer and implement circuits on one machine.
Machine Tool Clamp
Lines that hold at 250 bar and need a class above 621 without the wall of 635.
HIGH-END INDUSTRY DIRECTIONS
What Buyers Ask at 280 bar
The enquiries are about whether the existing routing survives the upgrade, and the answer is usually yes.
① Re-rated Machines high pressure hose
Trend: Circuits once rated 225 bar are being specified at 280.
Dohose: Identical arc series to 621, so the routing stays.
② One Class per Machine standard hose
Trend: Fleets want one pressure class across several bores.
Dohose: Ten bores, all 28 MPa with 112 MPa burst.
③ Envelope Discipline compact hose
Trend: Outside diameter is checked before the hose is ordered.
Dohose: 13.2 mm at the 6.4 mm bore, 20.3 mm at 12.7 mm.
④ Large Return Lines large bore hose
Trend: Return lines are sized for flow at the same pressure class.
Dohose: 50.8 mm at 28 MPa on a 630 mm arc.
⑤ Build Variants crimped hose
Trend: Buyers check which bores each build covers.
Dohose: AC and BC to 19 mm, CC and DC to 50.8 mm.
⑥ Traceability traceable hose
Trend: Class and batch are recorded against the machine.
Dohose: Marked on each cut length, with the test date.

FAQ
628 Series — Ten Questions
What is the working pressure of the 628 series?
Every code is 28 MPa (280 bar) with 112 MPa minimum burst, a 4:1 margin, from the 6.4 mm bore to the 50.8 mm bore. The rating is flat across the range, so the bore is chosen for flow.
628 vs 621 — is it worth the step up?
If the circuit sits above 225 bar, yes. The 628 body is 13.2 mm outside at the 6.4 mm bore against 12.2 mm on 621, and the bend radius series is identical at 50 to 630 mm, so the upgrade costs a millimetre rather than a re-design.
Can 628 replace 621 in the same clamps?
At the small bores yes. Up to 12.7 mm the outside diameter stays within a millimetre or two of the 621 body and the arc does not change, so the existing clamps and the existing route both survive the change.
What are the bore sizes and arcs?
Ten codes from 6.4 to 50.8 mm inside diameter, which is 1/4 to 2 inch, with minimum bend radius 50, 55, 65, 90, 100, 120, 300, 460, 560 and 630 mm in the same order.
Why does the bend radius stay low at small bores?
Because the arc follows the bore rather than the pressure class. At 6.4 mm it is 50 mm and at 12.7 mm it is 90 mm, the same figures as the 621 rung, so a compact harness at 280 bar is no wider than one at 225 bar.
Why is 280 bar such a common specification?
Because it sits above the relief setting of most mobile circuits with headroom for a spike. A range like this publishes 112 MPa burst on 28 MPa working, which is the 4:1 margin a mobile line is expected to carry.
Which bore for a 250 bar working line?
The 12.7 mm code at 28 MPa on a 90 mm arc. It is the most common working size on a compact machine and it sits well under the rating, with the 4:1 burst behind it.
Which bore for a large return line?
The 50.8 mm code at 28 MPa on a 630 mm arc. A return line is sized for pressure drop rather than for pressure, and a constant-pressure range lets the large bore stay at the same class as the rest of the machine.
What is the minimum order and lead time?
100 m per size, cut to length, across 6.4 mm to 50.8 mm inside diameter. Production runs about 20 days from confirmation, and assemblies ship crimped and pressure-tested with metric, BSP, JIC or ORFS ends.
How is the 628 series priced?
Above 621 and below 635 at the same bore, because the wall sits between them: outside diameter 13.2 mm at the 6.4 mm code to 71.0 mm at 2 inch. Send bore, length, ends and destination for a firm figure the same working day.
